Lucky Roars 2008
These images originate from photographs of bill posters in Thailand and are inspired by the signage and street art seen there. The fragments have been enlarged, cropped and distorted to create new compositions and depict two men. The images are dramatic and contain suggestions of noise, violence, excitement and action. The men are shouting, roaring or screaming though we cannot hear them, the volume of their voices and the energy of their pose is expressed in the colours.
